Small Businesses Are Beautiful - Here's Why!

Are you lucky enough to run a small business? Do you realise what a brilliant position you are in? Have you raised your eyebrows at me yet? I'm genuinely not crazy. I believe that small businesses are beautiful and here's why:
As a small business owner you are in a much better position to respond to the changing needs of both your customers and an ever-changing market. Think back over the last two years - how much has your business evolved? The changes in the credit market made life tough for a lot of big businesses and there were plenty that didn't survive. As a small business you no doubt encountered similar problems but on a smaller scale, and if you were smart and made adjustments to your business then your subsequent survival has ensured that you learnt a valuable lesson. Resting on your laurels is simply no longer an option. You must constantly adjust your course as you sail through the course of a year. It's likely that just to keep up with the near constant changes that will continue to occur, your business strategies will need to completely change and be updated around every two years.
Your customers also hold different expectations today to those that they held two years ago. Now there is a much higher value placed on service, more so than ever before. At the end of the day, if you're not happy to go the extra mile to meet your customers requirements then it's absolutely certain that one of your competitors will. Make friends with your customers. Understand why they buy from you. Understand what brings them back. Ultimately it's much more cost-effective to sell more products to the same customers than it is to be constantly finding new customers. Your marketing must be up to scratch and the key here is consistency: small daily actions add up to a big result!
Most small business owners bring such vitality, energy and enthusiasm to their businesses that it's a pleasure for them to go to work. When you truly do what you love then work stops being work and starts being fun. The joy becomes evident to everyone they meet on a daily basis and because work is fun then the level of service that their clients encounter is much higher. Small business owners pour their hearts and souls into their businesses. They're proactive when it comes to change, they look forwards not down. They relish the challenges that each day brings and stretch themselves to meet them. And that, is why small businesses are beautiful.
I'm on a mission to make all small businesses beautiful and to start, I'm offering complimentary strategy sessions.
